Review of ’22 – our Top 5

2022 was a year like no other – here’s 5 things we won’t forget

2022 – how to describe it? Challenging, intense, full of surprises. Definitely all three of those, and more.

It’s been a turbulent 12 months for us all, but we’ve been inspired by our resilient clients. Here’s our 5 highlights of the year just gone….

1: Championing #GoodEO as EOA Conference Platinum Exhibitors

It was in Liverpool, in October and we were there – as Platinum Exhibitors at the EOA’s first fully in-person annual conference since 2019. Two (very) full days of keynote speeches from high-profile leaders and EO influencers, plus workshops, discussions, case study sessions and a gala celebration of 2022’s EO Stories Awards. We loved being ‘back in the room’.

2: Supporting clients to unlock the potential of EO

‘Welcome to your new company!’… what a way to celebrate becoming EO, with a summer party and a table-full of cake. Pym & Wildsmith was just one of the clients we enjoyed supporting on their uniquely different journey – others included Jerba Campervans, Cunning Running and ISL. We also launched our refreshed Coaching through Change programme: watch this space for more on that next year.

3: Strengthening our values-led network and business community

Another day, another station: our Associates spent a lot of time on trains as we reconnected in person with our clients and Trusted Partners. The prize for the ‘hottest’ trip goes to Jeremy, Philippa and Lisa for their visit to FieldFisher in London in August – when the heat hit a sizzling 32 degrees.

4: Holding JGA’s first Employee Conference (we loved it!)

We’re used to enabling others to transition to employee ownership, but now we’re on our own EO journey – it’s exciting and a bit unnerving at the same time. JGA’s first Employee Conference brought our team together for an interactive day in the Cotswolds as we continue to shape the future path of JGA.

5. Seeing sound governance shake off its ‘nerdy’ image

And finally, it’s been a long time coming but 2022 was the year good governance dusted off its ‘nerdy’ image – as major organisational failures of accountability, leadership and process (sadly) became national news. Granted, governance might seem dull but it’s the bedrock of successful business – just ask Lisa, our governance pro.

Wishing our clients, trusted partners and EO community a happy festive break and new year
